Automation equipment has gradually replaced manual labor in the industry, and as a necessary transmission accessories for automation equipment - linear module actuators, the demand in the market is also increasing. At the same time, the types of linear module actuators are becoming more and more diversified, but there are actually four kinds of linear module actuator in common use, which are ball screw module actuator, synchronous belt module actuator, rack and pinion module actuator, and electric cylinder module actuator.
So what are the applications and advantages of linear module actuators?
Ball Screw Module Actuator: Ball screw module actuator is the more commonly used module in automation equipment. In the selection of ball screw, we generally use ball screw with high efficiency, high speed and low friction characteristics. In addition, the highest speed of the ball screw module actuator should not exceed 1m/s, which will cause the machine to vibrate and generate noise. Ball screw module actuator has rolling type and precision grinding type: Generally speaking, automatic manipulator can choose rolling type ball screw module actuator, while some mounting equipment, dispensing machine, etc., should choose C5 level precision grinding type ball screw module actuator. If it is applied to the automatic processing machine, you should choose the ball screw module actuator with higher precision. Although the ball screw module actuator has high precision and high rigidity, it is not suitable for long-distance operation. Generally speaking, the distance of the ball screw module actuator operation should not exceed 2 meters. If it exceeds 2 meters to 4 meters, a supporting structural member is needed in the middle of the equipment for support, thus preventing the ball screw from warping in the middle.

Synchronous Belt Module Actuator: The synchronous belt module actuator, like the ball screw module actuator, can be positioned at multiple points. The motor in the synchronous belt module actuator can be controlled with infinitely adjustable speed. Compared with the ball screw module actuator, the synchronous belt module actuator is faster. The synchronous belt module actuator has a simple structure with a drive shaft and an active shaft at the front and tail respectively, and a slide table in the middle on which the belt can be mounted so that the synchronous belt module can move back and forth horizontally. The synchronous belt module actuator has the characteristics of high speed, large stroke and long-distance transplantation. Synchronous belt module actuator commonly used maximum stroke can reach 6 meters, so horizontal transplanting usually use this module actuator. Some placement equipment with low precision requirement, screw machine, dispensing machine, etc. can also use synchronous belt module actuator for operation, if need to use synchronous belt module actuator on gantry, it needs to provide power bilaterally, otherwise it will lead to position shift.

Rack and Pinion Module Actuator: Rack and pinion module actuator is the one with the highest stroke among the four types of linear module actuators. It is the one that changes the rotational motion of gears into linear motion and can be infinitely docked. If long distance conveying is needed, rack and pinion module actuator is the best choice.

Electric Cylinder Module Actuator: The electric cylinder module actuator is generally driven by two-axis cylinder and bar-less cylinder, which can only be positioned at two points and cannot run at higher speed, not more than 500mm/s, otherwise it will lead to large machine vibration. Therefore, we need to add buffer original for vibration damping, electric cylinder module actuator is mainly used in the need for two-point positioning of the pick-up hand and positioning accuracy is not high positioning module and other equipment.
